Vendor Basics

Food & Drink
The C-U area has many, many, many diverse food options, and many are super easy to order via delivery services and apps given the Eastland Suites Hotel's location.
Important rules regarding onsite food at the Conference Center are in the participant group HERE.

Midwest Living ranked Champaign-Urbana as the #1 People's Choice as the Greatest Midwest Food Town! VisitChampaignCounty.com put together a handy list of top choices HERE and includes a food finder at the bottom of the page. Ask Google Maps for restaurants near you and you'll find almost too much to choose from. See for yourself below:

The Eastland Suites Hotel is within walking distance of Steak 'n Shake and Cracker Barrel (literally on the same block), and Hickory River Smokehouse (yum!) across the street to the south. Other nearby options include Toro Loco, El Progreso, Bankgkok Thai, McDonald's, Po' Boys, La Mixteca, Domino's Pizza, Panda Express, Dunkin Donuts, Culver's, KFC, Rainbow Garden Chinese restaurant, Silvercreek Restaurant (and its sister, The Courier), Jimmy John's, Wendy's, Bunny's Tavern, Starbucks, Crane Alley, Xinh Xinh Cafe, Masijita Grill, Siam Terrace, and Windy City Express, to name a few. There is no shortage of options here for whatever kind of cuisine you're craving.

The options widen further as you traverse Urbana into Champaign toward the IHotel, which has an onsight restaurant, as well (on the pricier side, fyi). Because C-U is home to the U of I's vast and multicultural campus, VisitChampaignCounty.com put together this Food Bucket List for students and you may find it handy if you want to brave Campus Town during move in week ヽ(冫、)ノ ~up to you!

Near the IHotel & Conference Center, you'll find the onsite restaurant, Houlihan's, all the restaurants in Campus Town, and many fast food options like Culver's, Steak 'n Shake, and Arby's, as well as, Papa Del's Pizza (OMG Good), Jarling's Custard Cup (a local summer tradition, prepare for lines and a sweet treat),  The Ribeye Steakhouse, McDonald's, Merry Ann's Diner (another local favorite), Rainbow Garden Chinese Restaurant, Meathead's, El Torro II, Aspen Tap House, Starbucks, Slim Chickens, Moe's Southwest Grill, Caribbean Grill, Le Peep, and Biaggi's Risorante Italiano, just to name a few.

On Champaign's north end, which is a quick drive on the interstate from Eastland Suites, you'll find a plethora of familiar names:  Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Chick-fil-A, Chipotle, Panera Bread Company, Outback Steakhouse, Chili's, Denny's, Red Robin, many fast food options (Subway, Taco Bell, McDonald's, etc.), and more, like Oishi Hibachi Steakhouse (so good), Portillo's Hot Dogs, and Las Palmas Mexican Grill.

If you venture a bit further south from IHotel, you'll find options like I-Wok Chinese takeout, Sonic Drive-In, El Rancho Grande II, Burger King, and Buffalo Wild Wings.

There are even more options with delivery. (Monical's Pizza is a local favorite.) There are also brewhouses near the IHotel and in downtown Champaign, along with bars, ice cream parlors, bakeries, coffeehouses (Espresso Royale!), and even oh-so-good donuts (Pandamonium Donuts is a MUST).

And, of course, in a campus town, there is no shortage of convenience stores and shopping centers to pop into for snacks and drinks!

Happy eating!
